花見を英語で

今日は花見に行ってきました。
コロナウィルス予防対策で幼稚園や学校が閉鎖されて１ヶ月近いが、近所の県立公園は花見の家族がたくさんきていました。
日本文化には欠かせない花見をさすがに逃すはずないですね。

ということで今週のテーマは花見について英語でどう表現するか
いくつか例文をあげますね。

1. 花見のことは　cherry blossom viewing　ですね。
2. 先週から桜が開花しはじめました。

   Cherry blossoms in the park started to bloom last week.
3. 三分咲き = one-third in bloom
   五分咲き = half in bloom
   満開 = in full bloom
4. 花見は桜を楽しむ日本の伝統的な習慣です。

   ”Hanami” is a Japanese tradition to enjoy cherry blossoms.
5. 桜は、3月の終わりから4月の頭にかけて咲きます。

   Cherry blossoms usually bloom from the end of March to the beginning of April.
6. 開花期間は1〜2週間と非常に短いです。

   The blooming period is only for a very short period, one to two weeks.
7. 人々は桜の下で、友人や家族、同僚と宴会を楽しみます。

   People enjoy banquets with friends, family and colleagues under the cherry blossoms.
