No Blade of Grass by John Christopher

Good Afternoon Good People!

I hope everyone is ok today. It is cold and cloudy today here in Yokohama with a good chance of rain and possibly some snow. We’ll just have to wait and see. I don’t mind snow so much but I do have a strong dislike of cold rain.

The book I’m going to review is called “No Blade of Grass” by John Christopher and it is frightening because of its simplicity of story. The grasses on the Earth or dying along with other important grains necessary for our survival. With no grass, animals begin to die, people begin to panic and will do what they think is needed in order to survive. The book tells the story of a group of people trying to reach what they believe is a safe area in the country.

I mentioned that the story is frightening because of its simplicity. We take so many things for granted and if anything is out of place in our lives, even the smallest thing it can cause chaos and disaster. The book was made into a movie (by the same name) that was pretty rough considering when it was made and I do recommend it if you get a chance to see it both book and movie are worth the time.

It all boils down to one simple question. What would you to keep yourself and loved ones alive?

That’s all for today, short review, I know but I hope it will interest you enough to read the book. Have a good day and take care.
